Unpacking Sustainability: MPP Group and Tadbik's Innovative Partnership for Eco-Friendly Packaging Solutions

As a part of the MPP group, MCP remains committed to its core value of sustainability, which guides every move it makes towards promoting and supporting sustainable products. The MPP group offers an extensive range of packaging solutions for the food industry, including a wide variety of trays, containers, cups, and sheet rolls, all made from different polymers, such as CPET, PP, APET, and PS. Also available is packaging with a high barrier to oxygen vapor and moisture. Many of the products are being made from mono-material. This significantly simplifies the recycling process, making it more sustainable and eco-friendly. At MPP, we understand the importance of preserving our planet for future generations, and we strive to make a positive impact through our sustainable products.

Balancing Aesthetics and Sustainability in Packaging

In today's market, it's not enough for packaging to simply preserve the freshness of food. With fierce competition for the consumer's attention, packaging needs to be attractive and stand out on the supermarket shelf. At the MPP Group, we understand the importance of aesthetics, which is why we offer several methods for adding eye-catching graphics to our packaging, including stickers, sleeves, and high-quality direct printing up to 8 colors.

However, we also understand the importance of sustainability, especially when it comes to the end of a product's life cycle. While stickers and sleeves can enhance the appearance of packaging, they can also pose a challenge for recycling. To address this issue, sleeve manufacturers are developing new solutions to make separation easier, such as perforation, which allows consumers to detach sleeves from packaging before recycling. Furthermore, there is a trend of shifting from PVC which is not suitable for recycling. Currently, most sleeves are now made from PET or polyolefins, depending on their intended application.

At the MPP Group, we believe that sustainability and aesthetics can coexist. That's why we offer packaging solutions that not only look great on the shelf but are also designed with the environment in mind. We're committed to creating packaging that meets the needs of both consumers and the planet, and we're continuously exploring new ways to make that a reality.

Collaboration between MPP Group and Tadbik Ltd. for Sustainable Polyolefin Sleeve Development

Tadbik LTD., a manufacturer and developer of printed sleeves for the MPP Group, has developed a new polyolefin sleeve that can be recycled together with MPP’s polypropylene containers, without the need for separation.

Eyal Ben Yehuda, CTO at MPP group: “We are currently making final adjustments of the sleeve to our production machines, and trials have shown promising results. This sustainable solution is added to the wide range of products offered by the MPP Group." Micha Noah CTO AT TADBIK added: “The motivation for this project began from our goal to shift from PVC labels. The recycled material can be used as PIR in the inner layers of the product, making it even more sustainable. The new sleeve is in its final stages of development and has excellent shrinking capabilities similar to PET sleeves.”

This new development has been submitted to the sustainability 2023 global competition organized by PACKAGING EUROPE, and we are hoping to be among the finalists who will be announced at the end of May.
